Sometimes it is difficult to find a pool with a flat playing surface, so many teams play in pools with slopes from the shallow end to the dive well. While this is not ideal, it is still a good place to practice underwater hockey skills!
Everyone wants to make practice games fair, so a few strategies can be used to ensure neither team gets too much of an advantage from the slope. The simplest solution is to switch ends frequently throughout practice. Switches could happen every point, or every time a team scores in the goal at the bottom of the slope.
If the slope runs from one side wall to the other, teams may wish to have players within their teams switch sides once or more during the practice.
