Coach Note: This block prepares players for real gameplay. Keep drills simple and focused on correct execution, not speed.
Objective: Teach correct strike positioning and execution.
Execution:
- Players line up on both walls.
- On signal, players swim toward the puck.
- First contact must be with the stick.
- Players attempt to gain control and move forward.
Rules:
- Stick only contact
- No early movement
Coach Eyes:
- False starts
- Missing the puck
- Poor body position on contact
Objective: Build understanding of game flow and restarts.
Execution:
- Simulate start of play.
- Stop play on whistle.
- Reset players to correct positions.
- Restart play cleanly.
Focus:
- Correct positioning
- Calm resets
Coach Eyes:
- Confusion on restart
- Incorrect positioning
Objective: Apply strikes, rules, and game flow in play.
Execution:
- Divide into two teams.
- Run mini game with strikes and stoppages.
- Reset after goals.

- Control tempo
